The Orchid announces franchise opportunities

Kamat Hotels (India) Limited (KHIL) has announced franchise opportunities for its brand The Orchid.

The Orchid presently has five-star ecotels in Mumbai and Pune. According to a press statement, the franchising is the brands chosen route to establish a footprint across India.  The goal at hand is to add 10 new properties to its portfolio by 2014.


Announcing the developments, Vikram Kamat, Executive Director, KHIL says, “Today 87% of business travelers globally patronize green hotels and lately corporate in India has shown increased interest in hotel properties that adhere to eco friendly norms. Having pioneered the Ecotel revolution in the country, we are set to transform the hospitality industry with our unique franchise offering that will auger well for independent hoteliers to make their venture profitable.”


Under management arrangements, The Orchid says that it will offer marketing expertise, advertising support in print and electronic media, specialized technical services, loyalty card, project renovation support, existing customer and staff database, integrity audits, bulk purchasing, online support system, vendor management and a 412 strong sales force across the country and an established global sales network. The brand is connected directly via its own CRS and GDS to over 1.1 lakh travel agents and its 30 offices.
