Radisson Hotel and Resorts sees large demand in upscale properties and has big plans for the country with 25 Radisson properties scheduled to open by 2012.

Carlson Hotels Worldwide has planed 41 Radisson hotels for the Asia Pacific region of which 25 will be in India itself.

“According to a recent study, between 24,000 to 25,000 new upscale hotel rooms are expected in major Indian cities by 2011. One of the key differentiators or strengthens of the Radisson brand in India is that guests see it as good value for money in the upscale segment, with several signature restaurants and outstanding food and beverage options,” KB Kachru, Executive Vice President – South Asia, Carlson Hotels Worldwide.

Currently India is home to nine of the 24 existing Radisson properties in the Asia Pacific region.

Carlson Hotels plans to launch a total of 54 new properties across four of its brands.

Plans for the Regent brand in the country remain speculative. The brands that will see growth in India are Radisson(25), Park Plaza(6), Country Inns & Suites (18) and Park Inn(5).
