After delays ranging from three to six months, Starwood is pushing hard to launch all its three Indian Westin properties within three months of each other. Keeping December 31, 2009 as its cut off, the 428-rom Westin Hyderabad Mindspace is scheduled to open first in October, the 277-room Westin Pune Koregaon Park is confirmed to open on November 15 and finally the 269-room Westin Mumbai Garden City is slotted for December.
These hotels were due to open in Q3 2009 but are delayed due to project overruns. To get going with available inventory, the hotels are also opening in phases and soft launches. Hyderabad will soft launch 370 rooms along with the spa and workout and all the restaurants in October. The full-scale opening will be a month later. The balance 58 rooms are open-ended for 2010.
Pune too will open in two phases though the hotel has not confirmed the number of rooms and services.
Taking advantage of the longer timeframe, Mumbai will be the only hotel opening together and with a full scale launch.
Only the Hyderabad property has announced its pricing, an inaugural tariff of Rs6500 + tax on CP basis.
All hotels will have feature Kangan, Westin’s first ever Indian themed restaurant.
