The second edition of the HIFI got off to a good start in Mumbai today with approximately 400 delegates participating.
The three-day programme began with a full house for the special first session on trends and strategies in hotel e-marketing. The highlight of this session was the simple underlining reality that the web is evolving at a rate faster than the most can keep up with. "The surefit of information out there most certainly can be overwhelming for both hotels and guests. We have to match need to platform in marketing plans," said Ashwini Kakkar, vice-chairman of Mumbai-based Mercury Travels.
"Whatever hotels are plannings, it has to be integrated to get the maximum value for money," said Himanshu Singh, managing director, Travelocity India.
The other panellists were Brad Edman, area director, S&M, Marriott Int'l; Phillipe Garnier, vice-president sales, APAC, Hilton Worldwide; Cyril Ranque, vice-president, partner service group, Expedia and Sheldon Santwan, editor, Hospitality Biz.
