Bordeaux choose Menon, Rua for specialist course

Sanjay Menon of Sonarys and Rahul Dua, restaurant manager at a Taj in Bengaluru are the first Indians selected for a week long accreditation course in Bordeaux, France.

Menon and Dua were chosen from a three city road show - Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai - Sopexa conducted last October on behalf of the Bordeaux Wine School. Upon successful completion of the one week course in France, they will become India's first accredited trainers for Bordeaux wines and will be eligible to conduct training sessions.

To date, there are only 145 accredited Bordeaux wine educators in the world. These trainers represent the school internationally and conduct workshops on Bordeaux wines.

The three city programme was to present Bordeaux wines and its regions to an Indian audience. Selected candidates would be eligible to participate in the school's accreditation course in France. In total, 85 people attended the sessions and 65 people participated in the test.
