Among the first companies to introduce drywall technology in India, Saint-Gobain Gyproc says it has observed a growing trend among developers and architects to use Gyproc plasters for hotel projects. “The response from the hospitality industry has been excellent.
We have done pioneering work of collaborating with architects and leading hotel operators to build hotels using the drywall technology. These products offer higher performance, a speedier construction process, and superior aesthetic appeal for hotels,” said Venkat Subramanian, managing director, Saint-Gobain Gyproc India.
The Gyproc range of plasters is made of gypsum, a unique light weight material which offers excellent insulation both thermal and acoustic, and good passive fire protection. Gypsum is used as plasterboard to create false ceilings and high performance drywalls and partitions.

“Gyproc plaster products are also approved by CII-IGBC for consideration towards Green Building rating systems points, providing a supplementary advantage to builders keen on creating eco-friendly infrastructure which reduces the carbon footprint of buildings,” Subramanian added.
The company has recently done hotel projects for the Courtyard by Marriott, Hyderabad, Crowne Plaza in Kochi, and the Leela Gurgaon.
