Geberit HQ takes over Indian sales partner

Switzerland-based sanitary major Geberit has taken over its Indian sales partner Gebin Water Management Systems, to strengthen its presence in the country. The acquisition will allow Geberit to sell their products directly in the Indian market with better customer support facility.
Gebin was set up in 2005 to exclusively promote Geberit products in India, mainly flushing systems for five-star hotels and the high end building segment. The Bengaluru-based distributor later extended its portfolio to include roof and HDPE drainage piping systems. The company has built up the Indian market for concealed cisterns and established Geberit as one of the market leaders in this sector.
Geberit currently does not have any manufacturing unit in India and imports the products from its various manufacturing centres. The distribution of its products at all major cities in India are done directly by Geberit, and the remainder through a network of more than 100 partners. Its current sales volume is in the single-digit million range in India.
