The 76-room Mark Boulevard in Bengaluru is Luxe Worldwide Hotels' first Indian signing. This is the first of an expected 12 hotels Luxe intends for its Indian operations.
LA-based Luxe Hotels is essentially a sales and marketing network of over 200 independently owned, luxury hotels worldwide. The average room rate is in the range of US $250-350. In India, it partners with Kishore Luthria's Tian Serrai, part of the former owning family of Mumbai's erstwhile Sea Rock Hotel, a victim of the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts.
Luthria is building two hotels, one each in Pune and Chaul village in Maharashtra's Raigad district. Both hotels will join the Luxe network upon opening. Click here for full article
The Mark Boulevard in Whitefield is a boutique business hotel. Hotelier India reported in October 2008 of its plans to upgrade to a five-star an add another 100 rooms, and other statutory five-star norms such as a swimming pool, three F&B outlets and meeting venues. This plan, along with work on a separate five-star, 60-room deluxe spa resort, also in Whitefield, are now on hold.
