HOLISTIC GROWTH
Globally, visitors are eying the East Asian countries for leisure holidays, and to address the rising traffic to Asia, Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) will undertake a holistic approach in all areas, from offering better food variety, good value for money and upgrading our exhibits and animal displays. We welcome inputs and look forward to working closely with our visitors and travel agents.

CHANGE GEARS
With recession, there is naturally an impact. It needs some change in strategy such as focusing on tourists who are already in Singapore, albeit a smaller pool of them, and working harder to ensure that more of them come. The other strategy was to focus on the locals and get them to visit the parks more often. We made sure that our parks provided a value added experience that is distinctive and not available at any other attractions in Singapore. The combined efforts did achieve some results as our attendance did not drop and was comparable to the year before.

/> The three parks see visitors that include honeymooners, senior citizens, families with children and independent travellers.

MISCONCEPTION
The Singapore Zoo is not like the one back in their home country, which is something visitors assume. Located in a secondary rainforest, Singapore Zoo is known to have among the most beautiful settings in the world, where 2,530 animals roam freely in open, natural habitats covering 28 hectares.

BEST TIME
Singapore has sunshine most of the year. Newer attractions are added regularly. Feeding tours were recently launched in the Jurong Bird Park and Singapore Zoo. Feeding Frenzy is a two hour $50 guided tour in the Bird Park to feed birds like ostriches, sun conures, nicobar pigeons and flamingos. Guests travel around the park on scooters. Another attraction is a two hour tour costing US$100 to the Africa Hooves and Horns area. Guests are transported via buggy to the Wild Africa trail where they get to experience a white rhino feeding session unique in Asia. The special behind-the-scenes feature allows guests to come up close with them.
