Rahul Singh, founder, The Beer Café is NRAI’s VP

Rahul Singh, founder and CEO of The Beer Café, has been elected as the vice president of the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI). The announcement was made at the association’s annual general meeting (AGM) that took place at the India Nightlife Convention and Awards (INCA) in Mumbai. The Beer Café was also recognised as the ‘Best Beer Bar’ by the INCA 2017’s jury panel, marking the second consecutive year that the award was won by this alco-beverage chain.

Prior to being named as its VP, Singh was most recently associated with NRAI as its honorary secretary and led its previous managing committee. He also spearheaded the battle against the highway liquor ban and was instrumental in making bars on highway stretches within municipal limits legally operational once again.

Speaking on his appointment Singh said, “To be chosen for this role by the NRAI is a moment of great personal and professional pride for me. I hope to reciprocate the faith that the association has shown in me by leveraging my knowledge, skills and experience towards driving the industry’s continued growth and success.”

Founded in 1982, and headquartered at New Delhi, NRAI represents more than 1 lakh restaurants. For an industry valued at $4 billion, it also counts suppliers and educational institutes in its pan-India value chain. The association represents interests of its members by offering advisory, training, and research services, as well as by organising industry events.

INCA has been specifically designed to experience, celebrate, and recognise the providers of nightlife entertainment in India. It aims to establish itself as the first mover in the category, with a long-term commitment from trade bodies creating a revolution. Being one of the largest revenue and employment generators in the service industry, INCA endeavours to promote accessibility, ideation, cross-pollination, and development of a mutually-inspiring community within the nightlife entertainment space.
