With coronavirus threatening to ruin India’s health, here’s a list of mandatory precautions, hotels and lodges must do inorder to keep its staff and guests safe. In the wake of no vaccine been formulated for the novel coronavirus, prevention appears to be the best cure available so far.
Here, is a quick curated guidelines for prevention and transmission and disinfection of hotels against COVID-19:
• Increase the frequency of cleaning and disinfectant of elevators, telephones, public area washrooms and lobby with Dettol Disinfectant Spray or MEDASEPT100 –Fast acting surface disinfection spray.
• Disinfect the air-conditioning system using MEDASEPT 100 OR LYSOL Disinfectant spray.
• Set up Hygiene Check System at every hotel entrance and alcohol-based hand rub, all guests are requested for temperature check and hands disinfection at the entry.
• Purchase digital thermometers. Minimum two for Reception and two for each F&B outlets, two for staff and vendors at entry gate.
• Provide staff with guidelines on proper wearing of mask, alcohol hand rubs, personal hygiene and temperature.
• If staff has body temperature over 37.5 degrees, flu symptoms, he or she should be arranged to seek medical attention immediately.
Banquet Service
• Provide temperature check service for event guests, advise them to wear a surgical mask and seek medical attention in case they develop fever, sore throat, difficult breathing and cough.
• Ensure that adequate washroom and hygiene kiosk are provided at the venue.
• If any staff notice any guest with COVID -19 systems, they should inform the concerned authorities and share the guest location.
• All staffs must measure their body temperature regularly, disinfect the hand, use mask before entering the hotel premises.
• All food handlers must wear surgical masks during duty.
F&B ServiceÂ
• Strengthen the cleaning and disinfection of air-conditioning in and around kitchen area; that goes for cooking utensils and tablewares.
• Strictly implement food safety guidelines for food and hygiene, such as avoiding prolonged food displaying tongs on the buffet tables
• Monitor the hygiene and follow up in due course.
• In case of special dining requests from guest, hotels should still follow the necessary guidelines before catering that request.
Accommodation
• Strengthen the cleaning and disinfection of room air-conditioning filters and bathroom air intake vents.
• All guests are to be requested to fill in the body temperature declaration form during check-in.
• If a guest suffers from fever or other influenza, he is advised to wear a surgical mask and seek medical attention.
• If guests have special room requests, hotel will provide the same with keeping all the guidelines in check.
