Delhi government announces INR 100 crore-scheme to transfrom the capital as tourism brand
The state government has announced an INR 100 crore-scheme that will not only help to introduce the capital as the tourism brand but also will help to create new jobs in the sector
Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia has recently proposed to launch a ‘Branding Delhi’ scheme in order to transform the national capital into India’s tourism brand. The state government has announced a INR 100 crore-scheme that will not only help to introduce the capital as the tourism brand but also will help to create new jobs in the sector.
As per reports, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia announced the scheme while presenting the Delhi budget for 2020-21. He stated that “the capital city has all the resources to transform itself into the tourism capital of the country. As per the new scheme, Delhi tourism will be rebranded and will be introduced as a tourism brand both in the country as well as in foreign countries.
The state government is also likely to start a new festival called Purvanchal Utsav from next year. Deputy CM added that the festival will be on the lines of Delhi Ki Diwali, which is an initiative to celebrate Diwali in an environmentally-friendly manner without bursting firecrackers and organising other stuff like laser shows with cultural activities.
