In order to ensure that the guests draw seamless and maximum benefits from their membership, Accor through its official website has announced automatic extension of Accor Plus membership. According to the announcement, the said membership has now extended by an additional six months amid the coronavirus crisis.

Accor Plus is a paid program offering discounts on dining and hotel room rates across Asia Pacific, as well as a complimentary hotel night every year in return for the yearly $395 membership fee.

Typically, an Accor Plus Membership is valid for 12 months until the final day of the month shown on the membership card.  The extended membership will be applicable to all existing Accor Plus members with memberships that are valid as of April 2020.

Membership will be extended automatically by 31 May 2020. Members will then be able to view their new membership expiry date in their member profile when they log on to their account via accorplus.com, all.accor.com or the Accor All app.

“The impact of COVID-19 on our daily lives is daunting and has also affected our members’ opportunity to use and enjoy the benefits of their Accor Plus membership. To alleviate this, members 12-month Accor Plus membership will be automatically extended by an additional six (6) months,” Accor announced on its website.

All current membership benefits, including any unused Stay Plus complimentary nights, will also be extended by an additional six months, said the company. The Stay Plus benefit, available to primary members only, is designed to provide members with a complimentary night’s accommodation in an Accor Hotel each year.

“This extension supersedes any previous ad-hoc extensions given over and above the twelve (12) month membership and this will only be extended for a maximum of six additional months,” the website notified.

For example, a member who joined in April 2020 with a 15-month membership validity, membership will now be valid through until 31 October 2021, as opposed to 31 July 2021, Accor said.

There will be no re-issuance of a new physical Accor Plus membership card. The company said the new membership expiry date will only be reflected on members’ digital card via the Accor All app.

Member vouchers will also be extended. Eligible members will  have all unused Accor Plus member benefits extended for a maximum period of six months, according to the duration of the membership. This also applies to any unused Member for a Day certificates (MFAD), Accor said.

Accor Plus benefits apply to participating Accor hotels in the following destinations: Australia, Cambodia, China, Fiji, French Polynesia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
