An impactful design
The renovated Courtyard Marriott at Trichy – a contemporary design with storyline of architectural elements derived from Srirangam and Rockfort temples. The Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple is one of the largest and most interesting temple complexes in India, built on an island in the middle of Cauvery River.
Historical inspiration
The TID India in collaboration with TID International PTE Ltd team took the inspiration of the Gopuram seen at the famous Srirangam temple and created the final design at the Lobby. The Gopurams are mostly very colourful and therefore when it was interpreted at the Reception back drop – colours were added too but within a certain palette. In order for this to stand out, the rest of the backdrop wood is kept light and in one tone.
Luxurious Lobby lounge
The T Lounge (Lobby lounge) continues the earthy tones of the Courtyard Marriott brand palette. Rich marble flooring with grid line patterns inspired by the Temple architecture.
All day dining details
The All Day Dining is known as Trichy Kitchen. The storyline of architectural elements also form a pattern in the All Day Dining above the buffet counter as a design feature. Printed tiles from FCML, form a highlight for the island buffet and rest of the flooring consists of cement look homogeneous tiles and Italian marble.
The gridline elements continues in different screens with other architectural elements interspersed in white blending with the earthy colour palette and accents of blues in the furniture.
The banquet bliss
The Pre-function flooring has interspersed grid lines, with Brass inlay continued from the Lobby patterns and artwork on the walls to add colour to the earthy combination of marble and wallpaper on walls.
The main hall
The Vasantham Banquet Hall is well known in the city and hosts many functions be it weddings or conferences. There are several sizes of meeting rooms and banquet halls as well as large pre-function. Each hall has a unique bold carpet bringing out the colour in the space. Walls have been kept neutral to act as a backdrop for the functions own colour. The Main hall – Vasantham has an elaborate chandelier as the Focal point.
Other architectural lines are seen in the hotel in various places as a story line such as hostess desk, consoles, glass film, etc. Layering and repeating of patterns was done to continue the story line. The rectilinear pattern was used to create an impactful illusion.
