Babita Kanwar takes over as Cluster General Manager of Le Meridien Goa, Calangute, and Courtyard by Marriott Goa Colva

Babita Kanwar, who played a significant role in the opening of Courtyard by Marriott Goa Colva, will head Le Meridien Goa, Calangute, and Courtyard by Marriott Goa Colva

Marriott International opens Courtyard by Marriott Goa Colva as Babita Kanwar steps into an enhanced role as Cluster General Manager for both Le Meridien Goa, Calangute, and Courtyard by Marriott Goa Colva.

Babita Kanwar, who has been instrumental in the successful launch of Courtyard by Marriott Goa Colva, will now extend her expertise to ramp up operations and revenues for the first Courtyard brand in the state. Over the past three years, Babita has led Le Meridien Goa, Calangute, to remarkable achievements in market share growth, top-line results, and stakeholder profitability. Under her guidance, the hotel has also undertaken and delivered key sustainability projects.

Babita brings a unique combination of hotel sales, revenue management, and operations experience to her role. Recently celebrating her 23-year milestone with Marriott International, she began her career with F&B operations in Taj and Oberoi. Her sales and marketing career spans key roles within Marriott Hotels, from the launch and ramp-up of 300 additional keys at the Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel to leading the market sales setup for Marriott Hotels in Mumbai. She later moved to the flagship Shanghai Marriott City Centre Hotel.

Babita has also served as the Hotel Manager at the Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel and Lakeside Chalet – MEA, the largest Marriott hotel complex in India with 770 rooms, and as General Manager of the Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport for over four years. Her accolades include ‘Above Property Sales Leader of the Year 2011—Global, Marriott International’ for her leadership as Market Sales Leader for Mumbai. She was also part of the executive team that won ‘Hotel of the Year’ consecutively at the Marriott City Centre in Shanghai in 2013 and 2014.

Babita’s vision for Courtyard by Marriott Goa Colva is to position the hotel as the preferred customer choice in South Goa, offering an exceptional stay for both business and leisure travellers. She will focus on creating experiences that highlight locally inspired food, beverage, and culture.
