Kanpur all set to greet Taj

The 150-key greenfield project is set to open in collaboration with JK Urbanscapes Developers Limited

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), announced the signing of a Taj-branded hotel in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The hotel is a greenfield project.

Speaking on the occasion, Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of IHCL, said, “Kanpur’s recent inclusion among India’s smart cities, coupled with significant infrastructural advancements, is providing a fillip to the city’s hospitality landscape. This signing signifies our strategic focus on expanding our portfolio in emerging markets with strong growth potential. We are delighted to partner with JK Urbanscapes for this venture.”

The 150-key hotel is strategically located in the heart of the city. It will feature all-day dining, a bar, two speciality restaurants, and the J Wellness Circle spa. Additionally, the hotel will boast over 10,000 square feet of banqueting space.

With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have 26 hotels in Uttar Pradesh under the Taj, Vivanta, SeleQtions, and Ginger brands, including 13 under development.
