Sanjay Sethi wins Hotelier India’s Hall Of Fame Award
Alumni of IHM Pusa, Sanjay Sethi admits it was the glamour of the industry that attracted him at first. “I did not know the reality behind the glamour, the 14-hour-long workdays, for instance,” he says. Sethi’s role in Chalet is multifaceted: besides business development on the asset end, he identifies new opportunities. The group has seen a sharp growth, rise in efficiencies and their EBITDA margin. His ambition is to leverage his three-decade-rich experience to transform Chalet Hotels into the second largest hospitality group in the country.
Sethi has also launched an innovative ‘Give Back’ Project. He says, "Many do not know how to mould their career if they hit a blind wall or stagnate. Entrepreneurs of hospitality start-ups often struggle to create successful formats though they may have great ideas." Through the 'Give Back' project, he offers free guidance and advice to young hospitality and F&B professionals. He works as a sounding board for start-ups, often helping them re-engineer their plans.
