Winning the Hotelier India Award will always be very close to my heart, as this is the first industry award that I have bagged. Cracking this award is a big deal, because of the tough, yet transparent, review assessment of nominations.
I feel reinvigorated to perform my tasks better, aligning with the company’s vision. It will bring forth new possibilities for learning, which will help to shape my career to achieve higher management positions.
My biggest motivation is my family. I try to imbibe their positivism into my life. It excites me to take up greater challenges and risks without the fear of failure or backing out.
My mantra has been ‘United we stand, divided we fall’. I realised that it was more about dealing with team members’ personalities and less about their skill sets. It was a challenge that I took up and gained valuable insights related to team building and motivation.
I wish to be a general manager in the next five years. Becoming a regional director is my top career goal.
My ideal career path would include working abroad for a couple of years. Given the level of competition that businesses face nowadays, it becomes imperative to constantly reinvent yourself.
The hospitality industry needs to look at issues of sustainability. This is essential to protect our planet.
