Arnob Gonchoudhury from Taj Lands End, Mumbai shines with Hotelier India's Laundry Person of the Year’ award

The ‘Laundry Person of the Year’ award at the 11th Hotelier India Awards 2019 in luxury to upper upscale category went to Arnob Gonchoudhury from Taj Lands End, Mumbai.

The ‘Laundry Person of the Year’ award at the 11th Hotelier India Awards 2019 in luxury to upper upscale category went to Arnob Gonchoudhury from Taj Lands End, Mumbai. Here, is a short excerpt where we get to know a bit more about to Arnob as he shares his thoughts on Hotelier India.

The Hotelier India Award is one of the most reputed in the hospitality industry, and winning it offers me a sense of achievement and recognition from the entire hospitality industry. I am very excited that my achievements were appreciated by the jurists, who comprised industry veterans.

The key factors behind this win are team work (support from my team), effective cost initiatives in bringing down cost/kg of linen washed, implementation of latest innovation processes such as low temperature  washing, where you can save 11% to 15% of HLP cost, and always keeping the end goal in mind. Be clear about your boundaries of what is acceptable and what is not.

This award gives me recognition for my achievements within the company and I am sure it will have potential impact on my professional reputation within the hospitality industry.

I have received support from my parents and my General Manager, Parveen Chander Kumar, in achieving my goals and objectives. Chander always pushes me to learn new technologies and processes in the laundry field and implement them effectively in our work.

My outlook towards work is to keep the team motivated, give respect to all associates, always stay committed to the job, explore innovative ideas for better performance, and improve customer relationship (both internal and external customers). Most importantly, have an eye for the finer details to succeed.
