Akasa Air commits to support Aviation Security Culture Week

The event was organized by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security

Akasa Air joined hands with the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) to celebrate Aviation Security Culture Week, held from 31st July to 5th August 2023. In adherence to ICAO guidelines, this commemorative initiative aims to intensify security awareness and promote a positive security culture in aviation operations across the country. The initiative is designed to encourage the industry to prioritise security behaviours and practices, focusing on the principle that security is everyone’s responsibility. The tagline of the event – ‘See it, Say it and Secure it’, urges everyone to be vigilant of their surroundings and raise alarms in case of suspicious activities.

A range of activities have been planned, including pledge-taking ceremonies across offices and stations, on ground awareness, digital amplification and masterclasses that will aim to sensitize both staff across Akasa’s network. The airline will also be making special announcements at the boarding gate and in-flight to uphold and promote a strong security culture among passengers.

Supporting the Aviation Security Culture initiative, Vinay Dube, Founder and CEO, Akasa Air, said, “Today, it is ever crucial for us to raise awareness about the importance of safety and security amongst our employees and passengers. At Akasa Air, the safety and security of our employees and passengers forms the bedrock of everything we do and is our topmost priority. We welcome the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security’s initiative in organizing this commemorative week and our wholehearted participation is a testimony to our commitment to be the safest and most dependable airline in India.”
