Global hospitality technology platform, OYO along with Sukarya – an NGO working towards providing better health services to the underprivileged are organising health clinics for women and children in Gurugram. These clinics are currently operational in six locations that include Ambedkar Bhawan, Sector 24; Dundahera, Sector 21; Samaspur, Sector 51; Wazirabad, Sector 53; Murgi Farm near Nathupur Mandi and Chippi Colony, Sector 21. About 5000 women and children are likely to benefit from these camps over the next one year. A dedicated team of a doctor, nutritionist, community health worker, lab technician and medical dispenser is available at these clinics for seamless delivery of medical services.
The objective of these health clinics is to help strengthen the detection, treatment, and prevention of anaemic conditioning and malnutrition amongst mothers and children. These clinics are also equipped with basic health facilities for the checkup of vital parameters such as blood pressure and height and weight management.
Commenting on the development, Rakesh Prusti, General Counsel, OYO said “It is our endeavour that the underprivileged get access to basic health facilities. These health clinics are also focused at combating some of the major causes of maternal and child morbidity and mortality through immunisation and improved care at the community level. We are hopeful of creating a difference at the grassroot level”.
The project aims to support the provision of basic health services, contribute to the response to the nutrition issues/dietary intervention and Water, Sanitisation and Hygiene (WASH) aspects, and ensure that the larger community has access to basic health checkups, vaccines, essential medicines, and preventive measures through basic information and knowledge sharing”.
These health clinics are also organizing nutrition awareness sessions in order to promote locally available low cost nutritious food, appropriate dietary habits amongst the target population and the use of iron vessels and pots to reduce the incidences of anaemia.
