Government of Telangana assures to support and stabilise the restaurant industry

The minister also advised the representatives to set internal guidelines in adherence to government guidelines and global protocols

The representatives of NRAI (National Restaurant Association of India) & TSHA (Telangana State Hotels Association) led by Shaaz Mehmood, Partner, Olive Group – Hyderabad; Shankar Krishnamurthy, Fusion 9 & Amar Ohri, Ohri’s group recently met Shri K. T. Rama Rao, Hon’ble Minister, MA&UD, Industries, IT & Commerce, Government of Telangana to discuss the key challenges and exemptions needed for the revival of the sector.

Given that the industry is facing worst ever crisis, the Hon’ble minister assured the f&b representatives with the resumption of the business post lockdown. He also declared that the state government will provide them with all the support required to stabilise and systematically reopen the sector for business.

He also focussed on preparing guidelines for sustenance and revival, and for growth of the sector in the state, post the coronavirus crisis.

Some of the problems faced by the members of the hotel and restaurant industry were presented to the Minister. The industry also made specific requests on license period extensions, deferred payment of utilities, rent advisory, stimulus packages for working capital and wages.
