Chef Dawa Lama believes food is a fuel for life, so the best way to serve it is to keep it “uncomplicated”. According to Chef Lama, food should not only fill your stomach but also your heart and soul. The Executive Sous Chef at W Goa joined the hotel as a pan-Asian Chef–CDC while the hotel was pre-opening its signature restaurant, Spice Traders.
Chef Lama began his career as a kitchen apprentice at Le Meriden, Pune, and gained experience while working with expat Asian chefs who helped define his perspective towards food. He has worked with major hospitality brands and has won several awards, including Mr. Hospitality of the Year 2013-Hyderabad, awarded by Association of Catering Professionals. He hosted a lavish dinner for Chaîne des Rôtisseurs (an International association of gastronomy that works in over 80 countries) in June 2012.
