ITM – IHM presents ‘Elements 2018’

ITM-IHM organised an inter-collegiate competition, Elements 2018, on 15th February, under the theme ‘Spectrum of Excellence’. This was extended to joviality in the core sectors of culinary, baking and pâtisserie, F&B service, and accommodation operations. The event attempted to challenge creativity, uphold standards of competence and professionalism, and embrace fun as a crucial element to learning. It was organised with an objective to present a platform for hospitality students to showcase their talents. 30 students participated in the competition, which witnessed the attendance of Marathi actor Siddharth Chandekar who was present with the team of his recently released GulabJaam movie. Other industry professional and faculty chefs of ITM IHM also attended the event.

The main attraction of the event was the 75-odd stuffed Gulab Jamuns that the ITM-IHM students prepared. These included variants like Beetroot, Masala Chai, Stuffed Mutton, Pizza Masala, Coconut and Green Tea Gulab Jamun.

Speaking on the occasion, Chandekar said “Whatever you do, do it with determination. All you need is hard work and determination. It is always an assessment to follow the right as well as wrong paths. Seeing the innovatively stuffed gulab jamuns prepared by the students made me remember my previous days of shoot for the movie GulabJaam.”

Sagar Chitre, principal I/C, ITM IHM said “Elements 2018 saw the participation of hotel management students that tested their innovation skills.”

On the last day of the event, ITM IHM’s participants organised a cultural program, quiz and dance competition, followed by a grand finale and prize distribution.
