Laundry woes and two guests with the same room #

People, Back of House

What does your job entail on a daily basis?
I ensure that both our external as well as internal customers are provided with high quality laundry services. Cleanliness and hygiene is of the utmost importance while on the job.

What is your favorite part of this job?
Catering to unique and unusual requests is challenging and exciting, and I love the satisfaction of meeting guest expectations. Being aware about various fabrics and the advancement in technology to aid newer and larger laundry operations is another favorite aspect of my job.

Which parts of the job do you not like and how do you motivate yourself to do them?
When a guest is unhappy with their laundry or when we receive a complaint occasionally, my team and I take it as an opportunity to improve. We identify the problem areas, and then look at fine-tuning the processes so that we can avoid repeating it in the future.

What is the funniest thing that ever happened to you at work?
When the hotel was newly opened, two guests were mistakenly assigned the same room number. Unfortunately, both the guests had given their laundry together; this led to a lot of confusion, as personal belongings then had to be shown to guests to identify their laundry.

What would you like to be reborn as and why?
I would love to reborn as myself. I love my family and friends, and feel really lucky to have them in my life.

What is your all time favorite movie and why?
The movie ‘Black’ is my all time favourite. I adore the performance of Amitabh and Rani in the movie. The best part is the underlying message – you can if you think you can. It is very motivating.

If you could do any job in the world what would it be?
I would love to be a cricketer.

Which celebrities have you met at work and what were they like?
To name a few, the late Firoz Khan, Amitabh Bacchhan, Shahrukh Khan, Navjyot Singh Siddhu, and Uma Bharti. They are very much like any one of us.

Which is your favorite hotel in the world?
No doubt the Renaissance Mumbai Hotel & Convention Centre. The location is beautiful and above all, I enjoy working here.

What is your motto in life?
Yesterday was the past, tomorrow is the future, but today is a gift, that’s why it’s called the present.
