Our ‘Journey to Tomorrow’ initiative, launched in 2021, is a 10-year action plan aligned with our purpose of ‘True Hospitality for Good’ and the UN Sustainable Development Goals to drive positive change that benefits our people, communities, and the planet.

“With regard to environmental sustainability, we have invested in IHG Green Engage, an online environmental management platform that plays a key role in helping our hotels achieve sustainability goals. This platform helps our hotels measure, report, and manage energy, water, and waste usage, minimizing environmental impact while reducing utility costs. We are also implementing initiatives such as introducing bulk amenities as a part of our goal to eliminate single-use plastic items and introducing AI-based technology to reduce food waste, and collaborating with local stakeholders to tackle water sustainability issues in areas of greatest risk. Additionally, we will continue to work with our hotels to reduce carbon emissions in line with climate science. We have focused on improving energy efficiency across our properties by introducing an Energy Reduction Metric in 2022. Furthermore, we are collaborating with partners like SunFuel to promote EV charging amenities. This empowers guests to make eco-friendly choices during their stay, further contributing to a more sustainable future.
