Marriott chefs win 11 medals, 1 cup

Marriott India’s chefs won an astounding 11 medals and one cup at the recently held ‘The Great Indian Culinary Challenge 2010’ in Mumbai.

“This accolade is a great honour indeed for our culinary teams across India. For the first time, we had 25 chefs from our hotels competing with other leading hotels across India. Our Chefs are mostly behind the scenes at our hotels but play such a vital role in the reputation that our hotels enjoy," said Gerrit Graef, area director of operations, India, Malaysia, Maldives and Pakistan, Marriott International.

The winners are:

JW Marriott, Mumbai:
Chef Savio: Silver (Petit Fours/Pralines)
Chef Lawerence: Silver (Individual Plated Deserts)

Chef Shishir: Bronze (Hot Live Cooking)
Chef Gajpal: Bronze (Hot Live Cooking)
The hotel also won the Gold Cup for ‘Best Culinary Team’ in India

Chef Somu: Bronze (Main Course Plated)

Hyderabad Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre:
Chef P Mahesh: Silver (Individual Hot Cooking)

Chef Lokesh Kumar: Bronze (Individual Hot Cooking)
