Chakraborty takes charge of the Mumbai property after spending four years as general manager at The Leela Kempinski Kovalam Beach, Kerala. He started his career in 1984 with the Taj group as a food and beverage controller, and later moved to the Oberoi Group, handling sales. Chakraborty was recently honoured as ‘GM of the Year’ at the Hotelier India 2009 Awards.

Winkler has 27 years of experience handling different assignments across the world. He started his career in 1982 with the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski, Munich. Stephan joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 2001, as deputy general manager of Sheraton Heliopolis Hotel, Towers & Casino, Cairo, a post he held for almost three years.

Somaiah takes over from Biswajit Chakraborty who moves to Leela’s Mumbai property. He has spent over 15 years with The Oberoi Group in several capacities including the general manager of The Cecil Oberoi in Shimla, and executive assistant manager of The Oberoi, Bengaluru. He was also the general manager for Radisson MBD, Noida, and The Oakwood Premier Prestige.
TEJINDER SINGH GREWAL
LE ROYAL MERIDIEN, MUMBAI
Grewal will be leading the team of human resources and security at the Le Royal Meridien. He comes with a rich experience in the hospitality industry. His past association with the Indian Hotels Company saw him posted at various properties in Vadodra, Pune, Kovalam, New Delhi, and Hyderabad.

Sinha has close to nine years of experience in the hospitality industry, and has worked with prestigious hospitality brands in India. His association with the hotel industry began with the Oberoi chain of hotels. After graduating from the Institute of Hotel Management in 2001, Sandeep joined the Oberoi group and enrolled for their management programme, Oberoi College of Learning and Development. Sinha has also worked with the Taj Bengal.

ALILA HOTELS and RESORTS, SINGAPORE
Edleson will steer the Alila brand into new destinations and strong institutional foundations, by drawing on over 35 years of experience in finance, real estate development, and the leisure industry in Southeast Asia. A graduate of Stanford University and formerly a vice president of Citibank, he was a partner in a corporate financial advisory firm for ten years before focusing his attention on the hotel and leisure sectors. Edleson has been associated with a number of successful brands in the leisure industry.
Pronk has been appointed to oversee the operation of Anantara Dhigu Resort & Spa, Anantara Veli Resort & Spa, and Naladhu, in the Maldives. She brings with her 20 years of experience, particularly in terms of opening properties, and transformation success. Prior to this, Pronk had led the pre-opening team of The Grand Mauritian in Mauritius as general manager. She has also worked as GM for Le Méridien Hotel Des Indes in The Hague, Netherlands, in which she took lead responsibility for the hotel’s major re-branding and renovation.

MGM MIRAGE HOSPITALITY
Kapoor is a professional hotelier with over 16 years of experience handling operations, sales and marketing, development, and asset management. A graduate from IHM Pusa, Kapoor joined the ITC-Welcomgroup as a hotel executive trainee. He has worked with the Oberoi Hotels and Resorts, looking after the sales and marketing for over six years. Kapoor was responsible for leading a large sales team in north India to develop business across all hotels in the group.
He had a brief stint with an online hotel trading company before moving to The Imperial, New Delhi as director of strategic planning and director of sales and marketing.
GOA RESORT AND SPA
Kumar has been transferred from the Grand Hyatt Muscat and will look after the smooth functioning of seven F&B outlets, which includes five restaurants and two bars. A graduate from the Srinivas College of Hotel Management, Mangalore, he started his career as a F&B assistant with the Trident, Jaipur. He then went on work for other five-star properties such as Amarvilas and the JW Marriott. He has been working with Hyatt for the last six years. Prior to joining the Hyatt, Kumar was working at The Chedi, Muscat, as assistant restaurant manager and a member of the pre-opening team.

Colonel Menon has served the Indian Army for over 22 years. His specialisation lay in the field of selection of officer level aspirants for various academies such as National Defence Academy and Officer Training School.He has been associated with ITC for eight years now. He was part of the pre-opening team for ITC Grand Central Mumbai, and helped set up the property before moving to Bengaluru.
