Manuj Sahney joins JW Marriott Kolkata as the Food & Beverage Director. By dint of his proven capability to handle operations in supremely challenging situations, this top-notch professional has become an asset to the industry. His high level of proficiency vis-a-visa diverse range of functions in the critical F&B arm of the hospitality industry has proved to bea major high point in his career.

Using his vast experience and nifty managerial skills, Manuj has brought to the table a dynamic energy to JW Marriott Kolkata. Responsible for the overall dining experience of guests, his key areas of work include supervising the kitchen management team and food planning with regard to daily operations. He is also responsible for ensuring quality standards in compliance to food and beverage policies, process improvements, new business development, quality and time management, brand building and staff resourcing. Interacting with guestsfor their feedback and using his effective interpersonal skills to mentor and appraise his team also fall under the purview of his work.

A quick learner and eternally passionate about the hospitality industry, Manuj’s career has been on an upswing thanks to his exposure to top-of-the-line hospitality brands soon after completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism Studies from the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and following it up with a PG Diploma in Guest Service Management from the Oberoi Centre of Learning & Development (OCLD) in the year 2010. 

Before his present job, he impressed one and all in in his role in a similar designation of Food and Beverage Director at The Crowne Plaza (IHG), New Delhi. He was instrumental in the implementation of marketing strategies to reposition the hotel in the competitive market and worked towards enhancing the F&B offerings and strengthening the hotel F&B product and aesthetics in compliance with IHG brand standards. Before this, he has enjoyed great success at The Leela Ambience Gurugram Hotel and Resort in his role as Assistant Director, Food & Beverage after being promoted from Banquet Manager, Operations & Services, in the same hotel.

Working for the prestigious The Oberoi hotels and resorts at Agra, Jaipur, Mumbai and Bangalore at the beginning of his career followed by a long stint at The Oberoi, New Delhi as Restaurant Manager facilitated this young and dynamic professional to hone his experience and move up the career ladder by mastering his expertisein all aspects of the F&B segment of the industry.
