Balachander Gvaneshwar joins is now the Food and Beverage Manager at Grand Mercure Bengaluru, Gopalan Mall

In his capacity, he will spearhead the operations of the Food and Beverage department of the hotel which consists of 02 dining outlets and multiple banquet spaces

Balachander Gvaneshwar joins Grand Mercure Bengaluru at Gopalan Mall, as the Food and Beverage Manager. In his capacity, he will spearhead the operations of the Food and Beverage department of the hotel which consists of 02 dining outlets and multiple banquet spaces. His responsibilities would also include coordinating, planning and implementing Food and Beverage concepts in alignment with the Grand Mercure brand ethos

Having begun his career in 1995 with Taj Residency Bangalore, Balachander Gvaneshwar moved to the Middle East in the early 2000s as a Restaurant Supervisor at the Fairmont Dubai. He later moved into the Shangri La Group and have been involved in successful hotel launch of Shangri-la Barr Al Jissah Resort. In his last role Bala led the F&B operations for Shangri-La Al Husn Resort and Spa, Muscat, Oman and the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa, Muscat, Oman as a multi property resource.

In the course of his career spanning over 2 decades, Bala has taken initiative to drive and to be part of many high ambition projects focusing on F&B innovation, Revenue optimizations and event curations

Outside his professional life, Bala loves taking out time to travel and explore new destinations. He also has a penchant for wines and spends a great deal of time studying the beverages.
