A sneak peak into 'The Library bar' at The Leela Palace hotels
The Library bar at The Leela Palace hotels recreate an elegant era from the past.
The Library bar, which finds home in several of The Leela Hotel luxury properties—including The Leela Palace, The Leela Palace New Delhi, Chanakyapuri and The Leela Palace, Udaipur—is a bar that spells sheer luxury and refinement.
The Library, a throwback to the times of the Raj, is also known as a ‘gentleman’s bar’. It serves up fine spirits and cigars and is inspired by a bygone-era of colonial luxury. It is peppered with cushy, stuffed Chesterfield chairs and has volumes of rare first edition books. Designed like a luxurious den, it is fitted with dark wood panelling, mohair, velvet sofas, teardrop chandeliers, fireplaces, fine art, books and collectible artefacts. Dim lighting, plush cushions, beautiful teak round tables, and a heritage flooring define The Library’s magnificent ambience. The Library is the perfect place for a book or a conversation over single malt or champagne. Every The Library bar extends into a relaxed alfresco section, in case you want to break away from the dark wood and leather.
The Library serves some of the finest selection of whiskies and liquors from across the world, including champagnes, cognacs, single malts and vintage wines. The Library at The Leela Palace New Delhi serves the Smoked Honey Comb Martini, infused with cigar smoke and caramelized pineapple. Among the most expensive spirits on The Library’s shelves is Asia’s only Louis XIII Rare Cask 786, aged over 100 years in its most absolute and refined form. It is also used in a cocktail infused with Habanos cigar smoke. It serves the Last Drop Old Fashioned cocktail, tailor-made by muddling sugar with bitters and supplemented with a shot of Last Drop 1960, the world’s most exclusive whiskey.
